   Hold your breath and steady the sights for 8s: +25% crit chance, but slow and draining 5 stamina a second. Ends when stamina runs out.

   Deadly Aim

   Stand still and aim for 1.2s (MP and stamina are spent when you start — moving or a heavy blow wastes them), then one shot at 600%: the heavy ball knocks the ghost back and staggers it for 1.5s

    Forest Wayfinding

    A hunter reads the forest: in a deep forest he sees the true trail faintly on the ground (footprints, snapped twigs, axe blazes) and on the map; those walking near him see the signs faintly too. Levels read harder forests (difficulty 2 + 1 per level). Fails in forests far above your level.

    Build a Platform

    By a big tree in a deep forest, lash a platform about 4 m up from 4 units of wood. It stands until dawn; anyone may climb the vine up — venomous creatures and tigers can’t reach it. 7 / 6 / 5 s to build.

    Open the Forest

    Kneel, light incense and a candle and speak to the lord of the forest (5 s) in a deep forest: learn whether the forest is open or closed now. If your skill is too far below the forest’s difficulty, the rite fails — you aren’t ready. Any number of times.

    See the glint of rare plants near you in deep forests (8 + 3 m per level); level 3 spots orchids and rare mushrooms. The hill girl is better at this.
